PenView - The Breast Imaging Workstation

The PenView workstation platform offers the Total Solution for interpreting and reporting, combining tomorrow’s technology today. PenRad has partnered with leading entrepreneurial companies EBM™, Medipattern™ and Clario™, to offer innovative technologies on one platform. The PenView platform couples PenRad into a comprehensive Breast Imaging Workstation that offers a Breast MRI reading solution and Ultrasound CAD. Bundling these technologies saves facilities money.

The PenView workstation facilitates all work from documentation of findings, comparing past to current exams to analyzing images and viewing CAD findings, and narrative report generation. The PenView platform increases efficiency and productivity at a reduced expense. Radiologists describe PenView as a Quantum Leap in performing breast care analysis.

Within PenView, PenRad’s image gallery facilitates image attachment of ROI to the study and/or abnormality. Images can be viewed in the report for review and reference, and are catalogued automatically into PenRad’s Profiler for correlation by descriptors and pathology findings. Within the gallery, MediPattern’s B-CAD is applied real-time to ROI to preselect BI-RADS descriptors and dimensions for the radiologist to reduce report generation time.

Medipattern’s B-CAD Computer Aided Detection (CAD) for breast ultrasound imaging is now integrated with PenRad. In concert with the user, B-CAD finds the edge of the lesion and then automatically characterizes features based on the American College of Radiology (ACR) BI-RADS® Ultrasound Lexicon. B-CAD measures lesion size and identifies lesion features. The user then selects the BI-RADS score based upon this information that is automatically combined within PenRad to generate a structured narrative report. Incorporating Clario’s Breast MRI application with z3D is a reading solution that includes real-time curves, registration, parametric maps, morphology, and interactive MIPs. z3D provides radiologists with a new perspective for reading complex datasets by assisting in visualizing subtle morphologic detail.
